In addition to the representation of the birth of Christ the crucifixion is the most frequently represented scene of Christianity. The cross is the symbol that is found everywhere in daily life.
The scene of Golgotha does not show a miserable man who died on the cross, but a female character, a mother that looks up to the figure symbolically represented by the cross. How large might the number of mothers be since that crucifixion that had to watch the murder of her child?
